You may have seen the call out in 2020 for a whole bunch of fresh talent to join the Bohemia Bay team, well after looking through hundreds of applications, we have chosen the best of the best. 

A team of incredibly talented individuals who all care deeply about living a conscious lifestyle and helping ethical and sustainable brands amplify their online presence.

 


MALVINA – Owner/Director/Photographer

Now we can’t start a blog about the team without mentioning the brains behind all of Bohemia Bay, our amazing director and talented in-house photographer Malvina.

A Czech-born graphic designer turned professional photographer who finally gave in to the ache in her heart after years of working for businesses with harmful practices, to create a place where eco-friendly brands and like-minded creatives can work together to make the world a better place.

What is your favourite sustainable brand?
“I can’t possibly choose one. Le Buns, Sans Beast, Aere, and so many more! I’m grateful for all sustainable brands out there who are doing their best to give back to our planet.”

What is your conscious living tip?
“Be aware, be open-minded and be kind to all living beings. Things are not always as we think or as we are told they are. It’s up to each of us to educate and to open ourself to often hardly believable and acceptable information.”

What is your favourite quote?
“You are not a drop in the ocean. You are the entire ocean in a drop. – RUMI”

 

AMBER – Social Media Specialist

Our new Social Media Specialist may be new to us, but not to the world of digital marketing. With years of experience managing a range of accounts in the fashion, beauty and lifestyle industries, Amber has worked with clients ranging from small start-ups to large international companies. 

Amber knows the ins and outs of social media and how to successfully scale businesses on those platforms. She too has chosen to take the leap to only working with brands who are doing good things.

What is your favourite sustainable brand?
“It’s so hard to pick! The top ones would be Seed & Sprout, they have really great products for easy sustainable swaps. And then Spell, I love their clothes and they are a great example of a brand that is constantly learning and changing to become as sustainable and inclusive as possible.”

What is your conscious living tip?
“Don’t make it complicated and know you don’t have to be perfect! Every little swap for a more sustainable alternative helps in the long run!”

What is your favourite quote?
“The idea that some lives matter less is the root of all that is wrong with the world. – Dr Paul Farmer”

 

SARAH – Graphic Designer

If Sarah had a superpower, it would be turning everything she touches into thoughtful, beautifully crafted, and considered designs. She loves telling stories and evoking emotions through the power of visual communication, and you can bet she’ll work hand in hand with you to create minimal, stylish, and timeless designs for your brand. Apart from beautiful visuals, Sarah is passionate about animal welfare, the environment, and building excellent relationships with like-minded, ethical businesses. 

What’s your favourite sustainable brand?
“Ooooh, I have a lot: Only Good (Hand Wash), Very Vegan (Makeup), Bare Bae (Body Scrubs), Sukin (Moisturiser), and Twoobs (Shoes), and Who Gives A Crap (Toilet Paper).”

What’s your conscious living tip?
“Be mindful and aware of what you consume, whether it is what you eat or what products you purchase.”

JAYDEN – Videographer

Jayden brings content to life, literally! As an experienced videographer, he has a passion for working with other like-minded individuals to create engaging, meaningful and effective content. He spends his free time in the heart of Melbourne’s bustling creative scene at concerts, comedy shows and everything in between. If he’s not out enjoying the best our city has to offer, you can find him walking, usually up to 100km each week – almost as impressive as his skills behind the camera!

What’s your favourite sustainable brand?
“HoMie, a Melbourne-based streetwear label that gives 100% of its profits to help young people affected by homelessness or hardship. HoMie also has a side brand that offers one-off and unique upcycled garments made from excess or second-hand clothing.”

What’s your conscious living tip?
“Schedule time in your calendar to sit down and actively reflect on your lifestyle and decisions, and then list actionable steps to improve your life. It is far too easy to be caught up in the rush of everyday life, and if you don’t go out of the way to be intentional and serious about your own self-reflection then you are doing yourself a disservice.”

 What’s your favourite quote?
“I don’t know who said this and it is paraphrased but nonetheless, my favourite quote and what I live by is “Do things that make you happy and work towards things that will make you happier”.”

 

LISA – Portrait Photographer/Retoucher

As a creative and mindful photographer, Lisa has a natural ability to bring people into a comfortable space to embody their unique expression. After having worked in the advertising industry for over a decade, Lisa now uses her beautiful photography skills to help other passionate business owners bring their visions to life. When Lisa’s not shooting, you’ll find her teaching yoga and meditation, baking pecan pie or enjoying the Bayside sunset.

 What is your favourite sustainable brand?
“Crema Joe. Sustainable coffee pods. Doing capsule coffee right!” 

 What is your conscious living tip?
“Breathe. With purpose, until you are being breathed. It is your aliveness and from here stems all your conscious decisions.”

 What is your favourite quote?
“I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel – Maya Angelou”

 


MARCIE – Product/Lifestyle Photographer

The talented Marcie combines her passion for arts and photography into beautifully crafted product and lifestyle shots. Another of our in-house photographers, Marcie is a sucker for quirky and colourful design and is on a constant hunt for the best oat latte in Melbourne! With her keep cup in hand, she loves exploring the many cafes Melbourne has to offer.

What is your favourite sustainable brand?
“Beyond Meat. Using less water, less land, less energy to make something so tasty? Yes, please. Meat made from plants is the future.”

 What is your conscious living tip?
“Go to bulk stores or a market for whole foods to avoid plastic packaging. Plus point: you’ll get better quality produce! Also, keep in mind what is in season and try to purchase items that didn’t travel hundreds of km’s to get to you.”

 What is your favourite quote?
“Don’t look back!”
